We typically like to go “yard sailing” on Saturday mornings. This year I’ll admit, we have been a little lazy by preferring to sleep in unless we spotted neon pink signs the day before in our neighborhood.
Nevertheless, I found a this faded wooden-framed mirror a year ago for five dollars. I thought, if anything it would be a fun art project to do with my seven year old daughter. I wish I took a “before” picture at the time we bought it. It had faded colors of brick red and brown on it, and it looked quite dull.
Together with my daughter we picked out colors from the art store, and we began painting squares. She got bored with it after ten minutes which worked out fine for me because that was when I would fine tune and detail her work. It took awhile to do in between our busy schedules, but we finally finished it. I spent several days detailing it some more and painting the black borders. I love this mirror. It provided hours of togetherness, concentration, and fun. It is bright, happy, and says, “Cha Cha!”
